When making an appointment the receptionist will ask you for the reason for the appointment so we can make sure you see the right person for your needs.
Cancelling an appointment
If you can't attend your appointment, please contact the practice as soon as possible so we can offer it to someone else. You can do this over the phone, in person, or by text.
Have a non-medical enquiry such as requesting a doctor's letter, referral follow-ups, or fit note renewal? You can use the Accurx system to request these online.
Simply head to this link and submit your enquiry from 10.30 every working day: https://florey.accurx.com/p/Y02847
Please do not complete an admin enquiry for clinical issues or to discuss pathology results as our admin team are not able to respond to these requests.
Urgent appointments
Most of the appointments we offer are on-the-day appointments. To request a GP appointment, please click on the following link from 8am Monday to Friday https://florey.accurx.com/p/Y02847
Or you can ring the practice on 0115 883 1900 from 8.00AM and speak to one of our reception team.
If you are ringing about the results of a blood test, we advise to ring after 11am. This is to help ensure our phonelines do not get too busy, allowing us to answer calls quicker and manage appointments efficiently.
You can also use the following link https://florey.accurx.com/p/Y02847 and click on the admin query section. This is available from 10.30am Monday to Friday.
Please do not complete an admin enquiry for clinical issues or to discuss pathology results as our admin team are not able to respond to these requests.
Enhanced Access appointments
Through GP+ Nottingham City, we are able to provide additional appointments weekday evenings and Saturdays. This could be at any NHS practice nearby.
Monday – Friday from 6.30 pm – 8pm
Saturday from 9am – 5pm
This is not a walk-in service; appointments are needed and can be booked with reception.
Need an interpreter?
If you use sign language then arrangements can be made for a British Sign Language Interpreter to attend your appointment. An interpreting service is also available to patients whose first language is not English. Please ask about these services when making your appointment.
Need a chaperone?
It is our policy to respect the privacy and dignity of our patients. If you would like a chaperone to be present in your consultation, please let our reception team know as soon as you arrive for your appointment.
Home Visits
Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10:00.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
Countersigning
Please note that GPs at our Practice cannot sign passport forms or firearms licenses.
Message from the practice
We understand it can be difficult to get an appointment at the moment. We find it frustrating too.
General practice across the country is facing extreme pressures and our practice is no different.
With a rising and ageing population in Nottingham, we now serve more patients with more diverse health needs than ever before.
At a time when demand is rising, funding is not rising at the same rate. This means we cannot hire the staff we need to provide appointments as quickly as we would like.
To combat these challenges, we have to work differently and use every option available to get you the care you need in the most efficient way. This may mean signposting you to other services which can handle your health needs quickly and effectively.
We will always do our best to work within these limitations to serve our patients as best we can. We constantly look at how we operate to ensure we are doing all we can to see as many patients as possible, and create a healthier Nottingham.
